Pictures of 2017





2017 began with the 35th Annual Plymouth Ice Festival.






We watched the University of Michigan Dearborn hockey team.






We took in a game at Yost Ice Arena.  






Viewers sent in exclusive photographs of live action at Yost Ice Arena.






Yost Ice Arena is located at 1000 S State Street, in Ann Arbor.






We checked out the University of Michigan baseball team in March.  






We also saw the Henry Ford College baseball team play Jackson College.






The Madonna University baseball team was featured on the Mitten State Sports Report in April.






Summer is all about Classic Car Shows.  We went to the VFW Post 345 in Redford.






Blue Sky Ice Cream & Hamburger has an awesome weekly Classic Car Show.






We also checked out the weekly Classic Car Show at St. Robert Bellarmine.






We took in some ARCA Racing at Flat Rock Speedway. 





ARCA Racing returns to Flat Rock Speedway on Saturday, April 28th.






We checked out the Michigan Stars FC (in red) in July.  The Stars defeated Lansing United (in blue)  2-1. 






We went to the Junior League World Series in August.  Chinese Taipei won the 2017 Junior League World Series.






Vintage Base Ball was featured on the Mitten State Sports Report in September.






We attended the 7th Annual Cruisin' Hines.  






We watched the Schoolcraft College Men's soccer team defeat Muskegon Community College 7-0.






The Marian University Knights visited Concordia University.  The Cardinals defeated the Knights 39-36.






The Concordia University football team finished the 2017 season with an overall record of 9-2.






We watched the USA NTDP (National Team Development Program) U-17 Team.






We also checked out the USA NTDP U-18 Team.






Northville Downs featured Virtual Harness Racing.  






We took in a game at the Southfield Ice Arena.  Aquinas College defeated Lawrence Tech University 3-2.






We watched the Schoolcraft College Men's hockey team defeat the Western Michigan University Stallions 11-5.






We went back to Yost Ice Arena in December.

-  Yost Ice Arena was built in 1923.  



-  The Schoolcraft College Men's soccer team advanced to the 2017 NJCAA Division 1 National Championship.



-  The Concordia University football team made it to the 1st round of the 2017 NAIA Football Championship Series.  



-  The USA NTDP is currently in 1st place in the USHL (United States Hockey League) standings with an overall record of 20-9-1 (1 shootout loss).

Stars 4-3 FC Indiana





On Friday night, the Michigan Stars FC (in red) defeated FC Indiana (in black) 4-3.












     On Friday night, the Michigan Stars FC (MSFC) defeated FC Indiana 4-3.  FC Indiana lead 3-0 into the second half, but MSFC chipped away at the deficit, and capped off the evening with a victory aided by 2 stoppage time goals.  Friday night's game was played at Hurley Field located at 2301 Robina Ave, in Berkley.
     The Michigan Stars FC, and FC Indiana both compete in the Great Lakes Conference Division of the NPSL (National Premier Soccer League).  The Michigan Stars FC is currently in 6th place in the Great Lakes Conference Division of the NPSL standings with 15 points, and an overall record of 3-5-6.  FC Indiana is currently in 8th place in the Great Lakes Conference Division of the NPSL standings with 4 points, and an overall record of 1-12-1.

-  Michigan Stars FC Goalkeeper #1 Anthony Mwembia was the Man of the Match on Friday.



-  MSFC Defender #28 Alexander Ofiemu scored a goal on Friday night.  Ofiemu scored in two consecutive matches.



-  MSFC closed their season last night on the road with a 1-0 loss against AFC Ann Arbor.



-  AFC Ann Arbor is currently in 1st place in the Great Lakes Conference Division standings with 34 points, and an overall record of 11-1-1.

Stars 2-1 Lansing United





On Friday night, the Michigan Stars FC (in red) defeated Lansing United (in blue)  2-1.











     On Friday night, the Michigan Stars FC (MSFC) defeated Lansing United 2-1.  The Michigan Stars FC lead 1-0 late into the contest, but Lansing United tied the game 1-1.  The Michigan Stars FC won in stoppage time on a goal scored by #28 Alexander Ofiemu.  Friday night's game was played at Hurley Field located at 2301 Robina Ave, in Berkley.
     The Michigan Stars FC, and Lansing United both compete in the Great Lakes Conference Division of the NPSL (National Premier Soccer League).  Lansing United is currently in 3rd place in the Great Lakes Conference Division standings with 18 points, and an overall record of 6-5.  The Michigan Stars FC are currently in 6th place in the Great Lakes Conference Division standings with 11 points, and an overall record of 2-4-5 (5 ties).
