-  The Wild Wings hockey team was made up of officials from the city of Westland.



-  Blue Sky Ice Cream and Hamburger is located in Romulus.



-  Bellator 124 took place at the venue formerly known as Compuware Arena.



-  The Old Car Festival takes place annually at Greenfield Village, in Dearborn.



-  The Plymouth Whalers were sold, and relocated to Flint in 2015.

Johnstown Flood

The Johnstown Flood of 1889 basically destroyed Johnstown, Pennsylvania. The flood was due to the failure of a dam upstream from the town. It was probably the worst natural disaster in the United States up to that time; 2,208 people lost their lives.
