Semi-UnPro

Unity Athletics A (in red) were unorganized, undisciplined, and the team argued amongst themselves throughout the game.

I recently attended a MPSL (Michigan Premier Soccer League) soccer match between Livonia City FC Silver, and Unity Athletics A.  Several members of Unity Athletics A approached me towards the end of the game, and told me that I wasn't aloud to take pictures of the game.  I told one of the players (pictured above far to the right) to worry about the game!  The Unity Athletics A Goaltender told me that I needed to ask permission before I take pictures.  I told him that I don't need anyone's permission, because it's for my website.  The Head Coach of Unity Athletics A was the loudest of the bunch, and he even screamed for the referees to come over.  I explained to the Unity Athletics A Head Coach that I was going to post pictures of the game to my website, and there wasn't expletive he was going to have to say about it.  Both referees disagreed with the ignorant opinions expressed by members of Unity Athletics A.  They gave up their rights to privacy when they entered a public park to play a semi-pro soccer game.
Unity Athletics A were unorganized, undisciplined, and the team argued amongst themselves throughout the game.  The Goaltender kept clapping his hands sarcastically throughout the game while thanking the referees for costing them the game.  Unity Athletics A is currently in 5th place in the MPSL First Division standings with 13 points, and an overall record of 4-6-1.  Unity Athletics A players, and coaches would find more success if they focused on the game instead of what's happening throughout the park.

Farewell

This is a bittersweet day: I am saying goodbye to History in Photos. I've been at this for five years and have put a lot of time and effort into finding historical photos that - to me, and hopefully to you - are interesting, educational, and have something to say about the human condition. Other priorities are now calling, but it has been a vastly interesting - and occasionally obsessive - journey for me. I never did this for page views but I hope it has been interesting for you as well.

I end, somewhat symbolically, with the final set of photos from the 1954 road trip taken by the four Canadian ladies.
