-  The University of Michigan women's basketball team won the 2017 WNIT (Women's National Invitational Tournament). The Wolverines defeated Georgia Tech 89-79 in triple overtime.  





-  Patrick Ewing was recently hired to be the Head Coach of the Georgetown University men's basketball team.





-  The Detroit Tigers recently released Pitcher Mike Pelfrey.  The Tigers also released Pitcher Mark Lowe.





-  Tiger Woods will not play in the 2017 Masters.  





-  The NHL (National Hockey League) recently announced that its players will not compete in the 2018 Winter Olympics.





-  Griffin Conine is an outfielder for the Duke University Blue Devils.  Griffin is the son of former MLB (Major League Baseball) slugger Jeff Conine.





-  Isaiah Livers won the 2017 Hal Schram Mr. Basketball Award.  Livers will play college basketball at the University of Michigan.





-  Jordan Walker won the 2017 Michigan Miss Basketball Award.  Walker will play college basketball at Western Michigan University.





-  Doug Gottlieb recently left CBS Sports.  Gottlieb now works for Fox Sports.





-  The 2017 MLL (Major League Lacrosse) season features 9 teams from across the United States.

-  The 2017 WNIT Championship Game was played at Calihan Hall, in Detroit.



-  The 2018 Winter Olympics are scheduled to take place in South Korea.



-  Griffin Conine bats left.  Conine is playing in his Sophomore season for the Duke Blue Devils.



-  Isaiah Livers played high school basketball at Kalamazoo Central High School.



-  Jordan Walker played high school basketball at Mona Shores High School.



-  Cassius Winston won the 2016 Hal Schram Mr. Basketball Award.



-  Kysre Gondrezick won the 2016 Michigan Miss Basketball Award.
